The article is supposed to serve as the resource for the lecture titled “OData Basics : How to gather Service Document , Service and Entity Metadata Docs” in the course SAP Successfactors Odata and SFAPI API-How to work with them.
In this lecture we discussed various ways in which following documents can be gathered:
- Service Document
- Service Metadata Document
- Entity Metadata Document
We discussed various options to gather the above metadata via login to the Successfactors Application and also how these can be gathered via OData API calls.
We further discussed different variants of the OData URIs those can be used to gather the various documents and different options available.
We also discussed various nitty gritty details over the impact of gathering the Service Metadata document for the specific entities — eg impact on the Navigation properties been outputted.
